A collection of books that explore the rich history of calligraphy in the Middle East. One of the qualities that make current Arabic design unique is its calligraphy. The collection is made of a series of motifs and scripture that identifies with the Arabic culture and modern design. Book one reflects an historical language of ornamentation and stylizations that contribute to the definition of the Middle Eastern culture. Book two takes the formal aspects of the stylizations researched in book one and creates a contemporary language of form. The package design is a contemporary solution that is applied to a keffiyeh, traditionally worn by Arabic women.
